Saturday afternoon club starts on 7th October.

We hope this will encourage all those that have other commitments on Wednesday nights, for those that find the evening sessions run too late in term time and for those that would like to practice twice a week.
We will initially run this during term times only, from 3:30pm to 5pm. Mixed age group.
10 sessions:- 7th, 10th and 21st October, then a week off for Half term. Then 4th November to 16th December inclusive.
The introductory fee of Only £2.00 per session has been subsidised from the lottery grant.

Sunday 17th September - Charity Car Treasure Hunt.

Staggered Start from 12:30 onwards.
This is not a race. Points awarded for collecting clues, not getting lost, having the correct Mileage, not returning too quickly and most of all, having loads of fun whilst raising funds for Biggin Hill Judo Club and some other local charities.
For the whole family. Plenty of stops on route. BBQ and ALL types of refreshments at the finish.(Not included in price) Adults £5 - Children £2.50.

Next Budo day planned for October/November.

Plans are well underway for the ever popular Budo days. Over 70 people attended the last Budo Day in April with eight different martial arts demonstrated. (For more info See Photo link on left and July 2006 News Archive.)

Sunday 9th July - Green Dragon Competition.

We travelled to Darrick Wood for the return match in the Friendly Competitions against the Green Dragon Club, in Orpington.
A very good attendance and well done to everyone that took part and supported. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and even those that didn't win were still smiling!(Obviously not trying hard enough!!)
The proceeds from the tooth fairy, for the already wobbly tooth, will be shared! The quiz was won by Biggin Hill, but overall, Green Dragon won by 9 golds to 4. That makes 1 match each and a return is planned for early in 2007, this time in Biggin Hill.

Student of the Month - April 2006.
Although we are very pleased with all of our students during May and Junes sessions, Display team events and competitions, we were unable to nominate anyone for the student of the month award. It is not given lightly and the high standards set previously must be achieved to maintain its true importance to the recipient.

The student of the Month, for April 2006, was Rachel Williams. Consideration had been taken of her Attendance, Attitude and Achievements. The Three A's.
Rachel has represented the club in Competitions, earning Bronze against Darrick Wood and Silver at Shooters Hill.
Rachel has attended all the Budo day events, helps put out the mat and Kamiza display and is a hard working member of the display team.
She jumped two grades in her recent grading tests after putting in a lot of effort.

Will it be you next time??

Display Team News.
The final event in the busy summer season finished brilliantly at the Biggin Hill festival. Well done to everyone involved.
(Pictures and some video will be added very soon.)
This was our sixth year attending local events with our popular display team. Next year must be even better and selections will start in the Autumn with the first practice day much earlier on in the new year.

The team needs a mix of ages and abilities to act as a show case for the club.
We are looking to develop more set pieces, self defense, Kata and to raise the tempo of some of the other parts of the display.

All videos and pictures from these events gratefully received and what I have will be posted to the Website

We have been invited to do a demonstration on the 23rd September during the Darwin School Open day. Still in the planning stages at the moment.

Other options also being planned. Let us know if you are available.
If you don't have a club badge, please see Sensei Bob as soon as possible.

All going well, each item will link to relevant pages that will show the throws etc in video and moving graphic images to help remind you. In the mean time, please use the Judoinfo web site link on the links page. It's an awsome place to go.

I'd like to include your articles and comments if you want to submit them to Sempei Mick, or via the Links page above.

Stacks of fun stuff to add in as well, but first things first.
