The student of the Month, for January 2007, is Holly Fry..
Consideration is taken for Attendance, Attitude and personal Achievements. The 3 A's. An excellent example to others, always attentive and very considerate to others. Holly tries really hard, asks questions and continues to smile at all times. Will it be you next time?? The Ken Williams Award, for the Student of the Year, for 2006 goes to Hannah Edridge. This was awarded in recognition of Hanna’s consistent attendance, attitude and achievements over the year. She has represented the club at competition's, Budo days and the display team and regularly assists others in training. Along with another student, she also achieved 3 brown tabs in her last grading, having learnt and perfected the katame-no-kata in only a few weeks. This achievement is even more remarkable in that she has had to contend with some health problems during the year. Throughout all this, she has remained a model student, respectful and attentive to instructors as well as helpful and supportive to fellow students. This recognition is very well deserved. Follow the News Archive link for past recipients.
Always check the Events tab at the top of the page. Often, more details in follow in the next sections
This will be held At the Squash Club, Jail lane. Opposite Darwin School.
This went so well last time, that we had to return to our old training ground. There is a spectators Viewing gallery by the bar. This helps calm the nerves of the parents!! Those who need to join, or renew, their membership to NAKMAS must get their forms from Sensei Bob well in time. All students should own their own judogi for the grading. Sensei Bob can get these in advance, at below shop prices, so get your details to him as soon as possible. All students who have been attending for more than 16 weeks are expected to grade and to have taken out full membership after 4 weeks. Dates for following Gradings will be published here well in advance.
